How we got here: Did you know that Oregon became the first state to add birth doula services as a Medicaid covered benefit? Learn more about the history here: | Become a THW Doula: Visit the Oregon Health Authority Website for updated information on: | Become a Medicaid Provider: Once you become a THW Doula, you will need to apply to become an Oregon Medicaid Provider | To Recertify: Recertification occurs every three years. You will need to submit an application and present 20 hours of continuing education. If it has been more than six months since your recertification has lapsed, you will need to take a competency test. Doula Competency Test is administered by the Oregon Doula Association.
