Oregon Doula Association Staff
Made possible by grant funding, ODA was able to hire staff to oversee and support the day-to-day operations of the organization.

Martha Rivera, Executive Director
martha@ordoulas.org

Martha brings nearly 16 years of dedicated experience in supporting families throughout their perinatal journey. With over six years of expertise in mentoring and training doulas, particularly through the Traditional Health Worker (THW) Doula pathway, Martha is committed to advancing the field.

Prior to her current role, Martha served on the ODA board for six years, progressing from Member at Large to President. She also holds a position as Commissioner on the Oregon Health Authority’s Traditional Health Worker Commission, advocating for fair doula practices, equitable compensation, and comprehensive training for THW Doulas. In her capacity, Martha will continue to collaborate with ODA's board of directors, focusing on supporting the organization's functions. This includes fostering partnerships with Coordinated Care Organizations (CCOs), clinical providers, health systems, and doulas to bolster the doula workforce.

Sara Luna, Program Assistant
sara@ordoulas.org

Sara became a full spectrum doula in 2023 and is the newest addition to the team! As an indigenous woman, chef, herbalist, and mother, Sara lives the mission of the ODA and believes deeply in the power of doulas to improve health outcomes and equity for all birthing people.
